Legionella Temperature Monitoring Kit Maximize

Legionella Temperature Monitoring Kit

This thermometer kit allows traceable temperature measurement of water systems for Legionella management.

Incorrect water temperature is a key risk factor for legionella growth. Legionella bacteria favour water at temperatures between 20°C to 45°C.  A typical method of control is to store and distribute cold water below 20°C and store hot water above 60°C and distribute at above 50°C.

This thermometer kit can be used to monitor the temperature of all parts of a water system to ensure continued control of Legionella.

The immersion probe can be used to take the temperature of outlets and water storage tanks whilst the ribbon surface probe can be used to take the temperature of pipes and hot water storage tanks.  The wire probe can be used for hard to reach places or where the other probes are not appropriate.

For total confidfence the kit comes with a traceable certificate of calibration.

Current health and safety legislation states that if you are the employer or person in control of premises you must organise a specific Legionella risk assessment. The revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L8) issued by the Government's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) extends the scope of its guidance on control of Legionella bacteria in water.

The code applies to all hot and cold water systems in the workplace regardless of their capacity.  This means that all employers who manage premises with hot/cold water systems and/or a wet cooling system have a legal responsibility to identify any risk of contamination and to prevent or control it.

Each Temperature Thermometer Kit contains:
